You may be taking care of someone but do not consider yourself to be a "carer".
You are a carer if you take some level of responsibility for someone who:
has a physical disability
is ill
has a mental health issue
is misusing drugs or alcohol
Being a carer can be a demanding role. You may want some support and help. You might also need to get out, meet people and do other things.
